Single naved church with three bays, barrel vaulted on the interior. And entered by pointed arched west doorway. Apse flanked by one left niche . Altar in situ. Single domed window in Apse. Cornice course running around apse and back wall. Iconostassis stripped but position indicated by wall pilaster and moulded capital which supported the iconostassis . Side door and holy door exist. Icon niche, on left of iconostassis, in dressed ashlar with ornate capitals and extruded cornice. South doorway. On the exterior, apse bears octagonal shape. Four buttresses on the exterior support the pointed arches spanning the nave. Eaves end in simple cornice overlaid with Marseilles type tiles. Small NW bell tower. Low stone wall surrounds courtyard, with regular openings. Partially collapsed schoolroom abuts on Nth side. School-room arches indicated by moulded imposts. Partially remaining wooden stairs leading to gallery which is supported by low obtuse arch spanning the nave and dividing it from the narthex. Obtuse arch is in dressed sandstone ashlar with a cornice and bead moulding. Some gypsum tracery on arsιre over icon niche which is over the doorway. Stone water spouts extrude off sides of apse. |
